Came here with luggage, waiters were nice enough to give us a spot to store luggage. Food was amazing, fresh and clean with great portion. Atmosphere was great. Will visit at night for the bar, looking good already during lunchtime.

My favorite Hofbrau restaurant. I love the oven roasted turkey and corned beef. It’s cafeteria style, where you get a tray and go through line to pick your food. I like being able to see all of the meats, entrees and daily specials. You’ll end up having a hard time deciding and wanting more than one thing. They have a variety of hot and cold sides, salads and desserts. Truly a unique experience.

👍 Cafeteria style : Line up - order and choose - pay - find your favorite table. Waiters are attentive to help bring your tray(s) and etc. Remember to leave a tip on the table. 👍 Traditional American comfort food, with that comforting flavors. Near extinct, please support this business more often and keep it going. 👍 Super friendly services. Cozy seating areas. Prices are the most reasonable. 💖 Def a gem in the Bay Area!

The food portion is great and so is the taste. We got Ruben and Prime Rib, it’s so tender for the rib and well seasoned. The butter grilled bread of Ruben is 10/10 crunchy and tasty. Highly recommend mushrooms for sides, juicy savory and tender. (The vegetables just like Costco frozen vegetables “nah”) The vibe of the bar is nice, chilling and no pushing sell for anything. Dining in here just like go to the same old place you like to have your comfort food even it’s my first time here.

Loved this place! I hadn't been here in a while and it did not disappoint. The food was so satisfying, great atmosphere, the decor is amazing. I wish we still had one in San Jose, but it is well worth the drive. You get your money's worth here, such generous portions! We're going back soon.

Love Harry’s ! Great American food at a very reasonable price. I literally like everything on the menu but the carved roast beef is my favorite. Such high quality!

If you don't know Harry's, learn. Old school cafeteria style, but with a nice sit down dining feel. The staff is fantastic, and the food is great. You could very quickly eat way too much here. There are a ton of options - too many to list, but my fall back is the open faced turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy. Its Thanksgiving dinner for lunch year round. I believe the only locations left are Redwood City and San Leandro - been to both, and loved them both. My only complaint is that there aren't more around.

It’s been nearly 17 years since my last visit, and I’m delighted to see that the restaurant has maintained its exceptional quality and consistency over time. Every dish is prepared with fresh ingredients and a thoughtful respect for classic recipes. I came here with my son, and we both truly enjoyed the experience. We have no doubt that we’ll be coming back very soon. My only suggestion would be for the staff to be a bit kinder and more attentive, perhaps offering a small welcoming smile.

6/25/2026: Thursday night means corned beef and cabbage night. There were more boiled vegetables than corned beef. They add a gravy to the boiled vegetables to give it some zing. Thee corned beef was perfectly cooked. The cabbage, carrots and potatoes were mushy. Very good. The line was about 15 minutes at 6:30pm. When we left around 7:30pm, the line was about 30 minutes. 12/1/2025: The Christmas decorations are up. I didn't see a tree though. There was hella traffic coming from SF to RWC. By the time I got to Harry's, it was 8pm and no line. My order was a Danish beef steak (minced meat patty) $16.89, available on Monday nights. It felt like a Salisbury steak in American terms. I wonder what made it a Danish steak. This dish came with a tangy tomato tasting sauce with mushrooms and onions. It was easy to chew as it was minced meat with less fat than a hamburger patty. It tasted fine. It came with a dinner roll, mash potatoes and a side. In my case, I selected coleslaw. Original review: Harry's Hofbrau is awesome. It is a cafeteria type of restaurant. It reminded me of a better version of the old Tad's Steakhouse's on Powell's St. My meal tonight was a tri-tip steak dinner $23 and a Manhattan clam chowder $6.75. Both were OK. The tri-tip steak was perfectly cooked medium rare. My sides were the mash potatoes and mushrooms. The mash potatoes were drenched in gravy. The soup had a strong tangy tomato taste. Well done everyone at Harry's Hofbrau.

30 year customer of Harry’s. Always RWC sometimes SJ when it was open. Comfort food at its best served hot, fresh, to your liking by friendly staff. The line goes by quick if there is one. Use the in-line time wisely to sort out your desired meal via menu and from behind the display glass. Check the specials board, grab a tray and announce your order to the carvery. Slide your tray along your path toward salad and desserts; don’t skip the carrot cake or pies!! Throw some utensils onto your tray and fina a place to sit. If you desire a beer in tap, there’s plenty to choose from. I recommend a dollop of Beaver horseradish along the open faced roast beef sandwich-adds a little kick. Staff will collect your tray. Rub your belly in delight on the way home. Restrooms and dining room kept clean constantly. Place can get loud. Some weekdays there’s organizations meeting within. Bring the kids, bring your parents, bring your friends. Leave happy.
